Copper Oil Lamp
When I saw this during a buying trip I loved the height and the details! I thought maybe it was used as an espresso maker or to heat up some kind of liquid… I was not right about the coffee part, but I was right about the liquid part. When I investigated this further, this little copper vessel is a Dutch Oil Lamp. It was used as a lamp! The oil would sit in the vessel and a wick would come out the spout - pretty cool! All this said, it is a pretty cool little copper pot that would add some height to your kitchen shelves and now you have a fun story to tell about it’s history!

Copper will naturally tarnish when exposed to oxygen and oils from your skin. This can be welcomed by some, and unwanted by others. If you wish to clean your brass, there are dozens of products and at-home tricks to do so. My favorite product is Cape Cod's Metal Polish. Weiman also makes a great product that doesn't required too much buffing. The patina has been left on this item.
